Sammy’s Sports Club | Especially for deaf or hard of hearing children

Sammy’s sports club is specifically aimed at providing sporting opportunities for young people aged 8 to 18 who are deaf or hard of hearing. The clubs provide an opportunity to engage in a range of sports activities in an environment that is designed to meet their needs. There are coaches at each activity trained in deaf awareness and also a signer to help with communication. The activities are a mixture of multi sport games and specialised coaching.

In the last year we have already had 10 days of holiday clubs with the young people taking part and having expert tuition in a large variety of sports including, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Squash, Kayaking, Wakeboarding and Cycling.
We are now taking bookings for Sammy’s winter sports clubs that will take place on the following dates:
Monday 12th February –TBC Sports Centre Peterborough
Thursday 15th February – Cambridge University Sports Centre

All coaches have had deaf awareness training and a BSL signer will be in attendance at all sessions. Each day runs from 10am-4pm and because of grant funding from Awards for All they are available at the heavily subsidised price of just £10 per day. These activity days are open to children and young people between 8 and 18 years old.

Here’s what people think of the clubs!
