NDCS and GLL are holding a deaf-friendly swimming gala for deaf children and young people at Parkside Pool in Cambridge. This is an exciting opportunity for deaf swimmers to meet, have fun and compete together in a friendly and supportive environment. The event is open to deaf 8 – 18 year olds who can swim 50 metres +. No previous competitive experience necessary. Hearing siblings are also welcome.

The recommended age for this event is 8+ but younger swimmers are welcome to take part if they can swim 50m+. Please see the attached poster for more information. To book a place please complete the attached entry form by Monday 13 June.
And Intensive holiday courses
NDCS is teaming up with GLL to run deaf-friendly swimming sessions at Kings Hedge Pool during July and August 2016 (perfect to brush up on swimming skills ahead of summer holidays!) There are activities suitable for all ages and all abilities from complete beginners to confident swimmers. NDCS is providing deaf-awareness and BSL training to support the fully qualified swimming teachers to adapt their activities to make them more inclusive and fun for deaf young people.
The sessions are being offered at the reduced rate of £9.50 for 5 lessons. Deaf young people of all abilities are invited to take part in one or both courses and learn new skills, delivered by fully qualified, deaf-aware swimming teachers. For specific days and times please see the poster below.
