Unprecedented demand sees 40 students join CDA Sign Language Academy courses

Charlene Spires teaches BSL Level 1 in Peterborough

40 students have signed up to join Sign Language Classes provided by the CDA Sign Language Academy in January which is welcome news for the area’s deaf and sign language community

At the time of writing, spaces are still available for BSL Level 2 in Cambridge but level 1 in Cambridge and in Peterborough are fully booked or underway with unprecedented demand from people wanting to learn in the new year.

This year, CDA Sign Language Academy welcomes Peterborough’s Charlene Spires as it’s latest teacher who joins Sarah Evagora and Jamie Billam who will be taking care of students in Cambridge on our BSL Level 1, Level 2 and Fast-track courses.

Sign language isn’t just a fascinating language to learn, but can provide access to a whole new world with the vibrant deaf community and unlock more employment opportunities. It’s well worth seriously considering as a way to spend your future free time.

2015 is the first time that the re-branded CDA Sign Language Academy have offered online registration and monthly instalments as a way to spread the cost of courses – something that has been warmly welcomed by students who can now learn sign language without breaking the bank.

If you would like to join the 40 Cambridgeshire and Peterborough people who are learning sign language now with CDA Sign Language Academy, you can register your interest for the next round of courses that begin in September. As well as continuing the current range of courses currently on offer CDA Sign Language Academy is currently looking for students who want to study BSL Level 2 in Peterborough, BSL Level 1 in Huntingdon, and there is a ‘Fast-Track’ level 1 course planned for April this year with a few spaces left.

Don’t forget – there’s still time to sign-up for level 2 in Cambridge beginning on Wednesday next week!
