Three days working, then six days away from work. That is the rota for our latest CDA Life vacancy, a live-in Care Support Worker in Peterborough, and the reel we posted about it on Instagram has already had a big response.

The job is supporting one deaf client, one to one, in their own home. It is a way of working that suits people who want longer stretches of time off than a normal working week gives them, whether that is for family, study, travel or simply a better balance.

How the rota works

You work three days, you are on call for three days (staying overnight at the client’s home), then you have three days off. Because the on-call days follow straight after the working days, you finish a block of shifts and are not back at work for another six days.

What the job involves

You will provide personal care and support in a dignified and respectful way, help with everyday tasks such as cooking, correspondence, bills and appointments, and support the client to get out and about, from local events to hobbies and interests. You will follow a care plan, keep accurate records and work closely with the CDA Life management team.

  • A full driving licence, which is essential for this role
  • Patience, strong receptive skills and the ability to adapt how you communicate to suit the client
