Ann Ratcliffe, former Chair of Cambridgeshire Deaf Association and the first person to be inducted as a Fellow of CDA, now has a memorial plaque at Longthorpe Church in Peterborough.
The plaque was laid on Friday 18 September 2026. Ann’s son Ian let us know, and the family have said that anyone who would like to visit, pay their respects or lay flowers is welcome to.
Ann’s leadership at CDA
Ann was the first deaf Chair of CDA. She led the charity with integrity and determination through periods of challenge and change, and always put deaf people and the community at the centre of its work. Her leadership strengthened deaf representation in the charity’s governance.
