William has been cast in the co-lead role of Alexander alongside Engineer who is from Canada and has been in two Hollywood movies. She starred in the thriller Orphan and more recently in Resident Evil: Retribution. She is cast in the co-lead role of Belinda and is partially deaf herself.

Both William and Aryana have appeared on separate videos on the film’s website asking for donations to support the project which is aiming to raise £10,000. The film is about two deaf teenagers who escape the persecution of an oppressive care home to live Belinda’s dream and discover who she really is. It will be filmed in November and Aryana is flying in from Canada to play the role.

The music for the film is based on Peggy Lee’s 40’s hit ‘Why Don’t You Do Right’ and is set in various locations. Also appearing in the film are renowned actors David Foxxe and Beth Winslet.

William, aged 13, was born profoundly deaf and uses cochlear implants. He is making his film debut in Dreaming of Peggy Lee.

James Everett the Managing Director of One Big Mop Productions, the film company responsible for Dreaming of Peggy Lee said he was ‘blown away’ by William at audition.

“William came highly recommended by people who had seen him in action before so we were very excited to see him.” James said.

“He and Aryana are the perfect combination for this film and I can’t wait to get it made. They both have personal experience of deafness but more than that, they’re both absolutely brilliant.”

“The film project does need some more support before filming commences in late November so please have a look at what we have on offer for supporters and hopefully we will see you as an extra in the film.”

William is the grandson of Cambridgeshire Deaf Association Vice Chairman Godfrey Palmer.
