Twenty-two episodes, one place to watch them all. Thrive Live, the monthly British Sign Language chat show made by deaf women for deaf women, now has its own website, its own YouTube channel and its own Instagram account.
Hosted by Nadia Nadarajah, Thrive Live first went live from Bewiched Coffee in Peterborough in March 2025. Since then the show has travelled to Leeds, the Edinburgh Deaf Festival, the Norfolk Deaf Festival and the New Theatre in Peterborough, and is now filmed every month at our studio on Romsey Terrace in Cambridge. Every episode is in BSL with English captions.
A new home for Thrive Live
The new website, thrive-live.cambsdeaf.org, brings everything together in one place. On it you will find:
- Every episode from Series 1 and Series 2, plus our specials, ready to watch
- Thrive Health, short BSL videos about women’s health, funded by The Evelyn Trust
- A deaf news roundup every Monday, covering the week’s news from the UK and international deaf community and what it means for deaf women
- A gallery of photos from the studio sofa and our trips around the country
- Match the Drinks, a version of the game from the show that you can play online
- A sign-up for Thrive Live emails about viewer meet-ups, news and offers
Follow Thrive Live
Thrive Live now has a YouTube channel of its own, @ThriveLiveBSL. Subscribe to get a reminder each time the show goes live, and to catch up on full episodes and Thrive Health.
On Instagram, @thrivelivedeaf shares clips, short videos and behind-the-scenes moments from every episode.
Giving Thrive Live its own channels means people who come for the show can find more of it easily, and people who follow Cambridgeshire Deaf Association for our local services are not sent videos they did not sign up for.
More than a chat show
Thrive Live is an important step towards building a community of deaf women across the UK. Each month, three guests sit down with Nadia to share their views, disagree, debate and laugh, all in BSL. The show gives deaf women a place to be heard, and to raise women’s voices both in the deaf community and in the wider community.
There is still very little BSL content made by deaf people on YouTube, and even less made by and for deaf women. Thrive Live sets out to change that, one episode at a time.
Thrive Live has grown into something special. Nadia and her guests have built a space where deaf women share their opinions, debate the big issues and have a laugh along the way. Giving the show its own website, YouTube channel and Instagram is a big step towards a community of deaf women right across the UK, and Cambridgeshire Deaf Association is proud to produce it.
Thank you, SignWow
None of this would be possible without SignWow, the Deaf-led BSL interpreting service based in Edinburgh. SignWow has sponsored Thrive Live since the very first episode in March 2025, and has backed deaf women’s voices every month since. Thank you to everyone at SignWow for believing in the show.
We would also like to thank The Evelyn Trust for funding Thrive Health, and Peterborough Presents for commissioning our International Women’s Day special.
Watch the next show
The next Thrive Live is on Friday 16 October 2026, 1pm to 2pm, live on YouTube from our studio in Cambridge.
