Role: Support Worker

Salary: £17,920 pro-rata (£9.50 per hour)

Cambridgeshire Deaf Association are looking for support workers to work in various locations in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough with deaf adults and children.

The successful applicant(s) will be working with individuals that are deaf or deaf/blind within their own homes and within the local community.

Applicants must be a highly competent or native user of British Sign Language.

The role requires the applicant to work to a consistently high standard whether working alone with our client or as part of a team; so its important that you are kind, compassionate, professional and trustworthy.

A full driving licence and your own transport with insurance cover for business use are essential. Hours and locations will vary slightly but all roles require regular weekly work to be undertaken with our clients.

Work will involve assistance with errands, shopping and general socialisation as well as keeping clear concise client notes. You may often work with other professionals that work with our clients so good interpersonal skills are a must. A knowledge and experience of safeguarding adults and children is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The successful applicant will require full DBS checks to be undertaken and all pre-employment checks must be returned as satisfactory prior to any work commencing. In return you will be welcomed into a small and friendly team with a focus on excellent client support and developing our staff to be the best they can be.
