Deaf Community and Police deepen working relationship

Big steps were made today in improving access to the local police service for deaf people. A delegation from the Deaf community met with Jason Ablewhite, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and Chief Constable Alec Wood. Up for discussion was the current progress in access for the deaf community and agreeing a future working relationship between the force and local deaf community.

This meeting followed on from the first public meeting about policing and deaf people in November. Thanks to the delegation and to the Police for making the meeting possible.
